Hunting with Beaver Trap Outfitters was a blast. I have hunted elk from Alberta to New Mexico over the last 20 years. This place is the best; I saw more quality animals then anywhere else. On my first day my guide Ross and I were sitting on a hillside when we spotted two bull elk coming at us. One was a 5x5 the other a 270 class 6x6, Ross leaned over to me and said we can do a lot better than that. At this point I new my trip was going to be everything I expected. By the end of my stay I had countless encounters and a respectable bull to go home with. I have been putting in for preference points ever since. I hope to draw again in 2011. During my stay two other bow hunters were lucky enough to draw unit 38 moose tags. Both hunters shot nice bulls one made Boon and Crocket. Plenty of game, good food and hard working guides. Jim

The weather was warm during the day and cold at night at first. Then a cold front came in with 4” of snow and the elk really turned on!
