No Hunter Comments Submitted I have hunted with ITB since 2005 when i shot a P&Y deer that measured 171 inches green score. i have also shot a 135 ten point. My ten is a big dissapointment for me because i know if i waited i could have shot a bigger deer. Last year i passed on an 11 pointer that would have gone 140 or better. i shot at a drop point that would have gone 150. You guessed it i missed, my fault not the outfitter. This year was a tough year in Illinois. Because of the weather the corn was still standing. Not a good thing. i always pick the first week of three that the outfitter books. i work in a supermarket and the Thanksgiving holiday prevents me from moving my week any later. All the experts predicted a late rut. I was hoping they were wrong. They were not. i saw deer but no big deer. A trophy outfitter puts you in the deers bedroom but cannot change the weather or the moon phase. The difference between this year and last year was amazing. I did not connect but i have already re-booked. My guide is a great guy, his name is Jerry and he would do everything and anything for his hunters. Last year i was the only hunter on a good size farm. This year there was only one other hunter. The other fellow shot and missed a 150 class deer. Great ground, great deer and a great outfitter.
