Hunter Comments
I do not recommend this outfitter

Very poor hunt. Animals were worn out, area had been hunted hard for 9 days prior to our arrival. Never saw any animals, no deer, no elk, no bear. Guides were unfamiliar with area, wandered about and did not inspire confidence. Out of 6 hunters 5 suffered injuries. One broke two wrists and 3 ribs. Guides had no emergency medical training or equipment. Had to wait over 24 hours for a Medivac! Hunt ended two days early. Outfitter blames hunters for all the problems. His past responses show that is his usual excuse. Over charged me for Idaho licenses. Do not hunt with this guide!!!

Was the outfitter notified of problems? - YES

Outfitter's Response
Disagree

After talking to john’s guide lee wolford he stated that john was so out of shape that he could only hunt 3-4 hours per day.He only hunted 3 days and gave up two hours into the 4 th day.He apologized to lee several times about how bad of shape he was in and wanted to go back to camp.Lee said over the last 7 years he has guided in their john was the in the worst physical condition of all the hunters.John new when he booked this hunt to be in good physical condition. The two hunters that flew into camp prior to john got two six point bulls and missed one plus took a bear.Lee said they were awesome hunters in great shape. One hunter in the group fell off his horse and broke one wrist and fractured the other plus some ribs.He was flown out as soon as we could get life flight in their.Within 24 hours since they cannot fly at night. No other hunters were injured in any way. This area the selway is a 7 hour horse back ride to camp. This john also new when he booked it.All our stock is well taken care.Either grazing on grass or fed hay cubes. The country is steep and all hunters need to come prepared. For John to blame this on us is beyond me.He needs to man up and change his lifestyle if wants to hunt backcountry.John tipped the guide 500.00 the cook 300.00 and wrangler 100.00.Funny he would tip if he was upset on his hunt.Anybody that comes in good condition to the selway will have a 85% opportunity on a nice bull. This area Is huge, over 600 square miles and we only hunt less then 50 square miles each year.Be glad to show anybody pictures of bulls taken in the same area john hunted in last year that were in good physical condition.
