Hunter Comments
I recommend this outfitter

Wilderness Family Outfitters, located on Wollaston Lake in Northern Saskatchewan provides an outstanding bear hunt with trophy fishing. With Jim Brennan heading up the bear hunt for them, WFO has everything a hunter could ask for. With hunters limited to 5 or 6 a week and 23 baited stands this year with cameras, 16 stands had not been hunted by the end of the 3rd week. The trophy potential is excellent as this part of Saskatchewan is very remote. There is no resident pressure. As the season progresses, new-comers are always showing up at the baits. In fact this is the first time the bear I took had been seen. They have had numerous large trophy boars on camera all season long. WFO will accommodate any weapon and those, like myself, who like to sit on the ground are also accommodated. The friendly atmosphere and outstanding meals provided by the owner, Ruben Heddekopp himself and his staff are beyond compare in both amount and taste. They skin your bear and if you want the meat you must butcher that yourself, which I did. You are housed in small one room cabins which has electricity and heaters for those chilly nights. The washrooms are connected to the lodge a short walk from your cabin with hot and cold running water, showers and toilets. The owner has an extensive hunting background, hunting in many areas of the world and has used those experiences to shape Wilderness Family Outfitters into a first class outfit. The owner and head guide are constantly asking what they can or could do better. I have hunted several bear camps and this is, by far, my favorite, not just because of the bear I took, but because of the class of people operating it.
