The two tags we used were purchased by Ryk the year before and we were the guinea pigs for the area and hunt style. We hunted out of a wall tent camp right in the middle of moose country. The two guides we had, Eric Jensen and Ken Madsen, were very knowledgeable about the area and bowhunting moose. The weather was good for the most part but the moon was full for three nights and really cut down on moose daytime activity. We heard several bulls but none really wanted to play. It was like that in the other two camps as well. Our guides did everything in their power to put us on moose and I got lucky on the third day with a young bull. I think, overall, 7 of Ryk's 11 clients killed bulls this year. I highly recommend his operation.

It was rather warm a couple of days but I think the main factor was the full moon at night. There was lots and lots of moose sign and rut sign but the bulls just weren't responding during the day.
