This was actually my 4th time up with Richard and 6th time in Quebec. This trip I was at King Lake. I'm pretty sure as far as animal quality and numbers this hunt will never be beaten. We had Bulls pouring through our area for 3 days straight. Not just caribou but BIG Bulls. Without a doubt I saw more bulls on this hunt than my 5 previous hunts combined. That is simply a matter of luck. Richard put me in a great camp. We never had to go more than a mile to find bulls. Rarely got outside of 2 miles from camp. The food was amazing. Our cook was Franco, an Italian Chef that could make a caribou turd taste great. Wally and his brother Cookie were our the guides. Being my 6th time, I actually didnt want anyone around me, just to bowhunt on my own, and they gave me that freedom. Though they would have done anything I wanted and gone anywhere with me if I asked. The cabin was very nice. Always warm and dry. Boats were in excellent shape. The fishing was good. Though only lake trout at this lake. Small game hunting was kind of a bust, though several spruce grouse were killed around camp. Black bears were around. We spotted 2 from camp, though no one was able to get a chance at one. The camp had 3 bow hunters and 3 rifle hunters. 2 bulls were taken with a bow, although EVERYONE could have if they were bow hunting and could shoot 30 yards. The 2 bulls that were taken both will make P/Y. 1 (not mine) was actually way over B/C.

The weather was actually beyond beautiful. Saw frost a few mornings. mid day temps in the 50s. 1 day it became really hot. Mid 70s. And only 1 day of wind and rain. Past that, just amazing weather.
