This is my third trip to Tad Ladd West Kentucky Outfitters. We hunted two days of bow season Oct 13-14th, and two days of muzzleloader on the 15th and 16th. Tad's operation continues to amaze me. I have hunted all over the Country including Saskatchewan, Alberta, Iowa, Illinois, Texas and Montana and I have NEVER seen an operation that is so conducive for big whitetail bucks. I'm not sure how Tad finds time to put in the food plots, hang incredibly safe and comfortable stands for every wind direction, hire knowledgable guides,and just overall make your experience pleasant, but he does year in and year out. Simply amazing. The four days I was in camp the temperatures were in the mid 80's, full moon, mid October, and strong winds out of the South. Actually, nothing in our favor for big bucks to be on their feet. Nonetheless, almost everyone in camp always saw deer each sit, and even some mature bucks were shot. The hottest morning of the trip, I saw two 10 pointers, an 8 point, and a smaller buck. They were all nice deer, just not what I was after. The food and accomodations were also great as well. When you are hunting fair chase whitetails, there's never a guarantee. One thing I WILL guarantee is that your chances will not be higher with anyone else to shoot a mature Kentucky buck, than with Tad.
In summary, every outfitter will tell you that they will work hard to get you in front of a deer. I guess in most cases, that's probably true. But in order to kill a big deer, you have to grow big deer. Once you grow them, you have to get them in a position where a hunter will see them and that's what Tad does. Not only does he have an abundance of big deer, but having countless food plots, on several thousand acres of property (on different tracts of land) is the key to killing big deer.
I've hunted with other Kentucky outfitters. Trust me, don't waste your time. Give Tad a call.
