This was my first trip to TSI and my first bear hunt. I was there with my Dad and brother, Dads second trip and my brothers third. Light rain the first two days may have dampened (no pun intended) the number of bears I saw, but overall it was an excellent experience. I heard a bear crashing through the woods Monday night and Wednesday evening. Tuesday and Wednesday there were yearlings under my stand and coming to the bait barrel off and on all evening. Thursday I was moved to a new stand and finally got to see an adult sized bear after about three hours in the stand and was able to put an arrow into him. Before I could get down to track him, I'd heard the death moan, his big brother made a brief appearance on the back side of the bait site before disappearing only to turn up a minute later under my stand. A very exciting and heart pounding addition to the evening. It's obvious that Dave and his crew work very hard to provide a great hunting experience for everyone. I think me and one other hunter were the only ones that did not see bear the first night. I'm really looking forward to our return trip in '17.

Light to steady rain on the first two days. I don't know if it had any effect on sightings.
