We did a November hunt,saw a lot of cows and calfs no bulls. One guy in camp shot a small spike the last day of the hunt. It was a lot of money to spend for me and my brother in law and didn't have 1 opportunity. With that being said that's hunting but the website states trophy Mule deer show room, I didn't see any thing with horns only a couple does, I had a moose and a mule deer tag. 2 days before my hunt I contacted the outfitter asking him how the hunt was looking and he responded with " not good at all" that's not what someone wants to hear when they spent $5,200++ and are about to drive 32 hours. He could have been a little more positive even if things were bad, it didn't make the drive up very exciting after hearing that. After talking to a couple locals they stated that the area was good 10 years ago but since then populations for mule deer have diminished. My brother in law saw a trophy the first day but didn't have a mule deer permit and that's the only one he saw as well. We were also told we could add wolf to our hunt and only had to buy the $35 license with our other tags. When my brother in law mentioned it he was rebutted with " is it in you contract!!" so we decided not to make a big deal out of it. you would think after spending the money he would've just said no problem guys but that wasn't the case. Our guide was great and we did see moose just none with horns, the cooking was exceptional the camp was what I expected just not very customer oriented as far as explaining things. we did not feel welcome there it almost felt like we were a burden to the outfitter. We were the last hunt of the year so maybe that had something to do with it. Everyone that I talked to had a lot of positive things to say about the camp but just wanted to share my experience, didn't discuss with him because it would've only made it worse we were already committed and wanted to make the best of it. I believe at one time this camp was great but it seems like the outfitter might be slowly getting out of the business and has other stuff on his mind.
