I do not recommend this outfitter

First of all, I had the website up when booking and it said $3,800 and while speaking to Mark, it went up to $4,200. I spoke with the other guys at camp and 4 of them paid $3800 and the others paid $4200. No one ever seen a shooter in 4 days, and the one group pulled out after 3 days of hunting. I never did get to meet Mark who stayed at the other camp, or even hear from him to say thank you for using Premier Outfitters. I was disappointed in the amount of deer I saw, ten does and one 4 pt in the course of sitting four 12 hour days in a stand. From hunting for 45 years, I know that deer movement is sometimes unpredictable but thought for the money I paid I would at least see something bigger than a 4 pointer. I've hunted Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, and always shot a deer. The food and accommodations were excellent and Erik my guide was extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to hunt with.

Was the outfitter notified of problems? - NO

Outfitter's Response
Disagree

Larry, I just spoke with Erik and he said you were a pleasure to guide and a very nice man. I would first like to address the rate you were charged. My 2015 prices for gun hunts were 3750.00, when you and I spoke you questioned that the rate you were seeing was $3750.00. We were both on our computers at the same time and I instructed you to refresh your screen to take you to the updated rate page. Once you did that you saw the 2016 prices. I apologize for not getting to meet you or the other guys in your camp until the last day due to the fact that I had the flu and had been bedridden. Erik was instructed to let everyone know this and he said he made everyone aware of it. I did get to come to the camp on the last day at 1:00 pm and spoke with several of the hunters but you were out hunting and I did not have a chance to speak with you. I did stay in constant contact with Erik your guide over the phone, he explained that you were very patient and were hunting hard. Erik said he moved you the last day to another farm but it just didn't pan out for you. The 4 days you hunted the mature buck movement was great on some of our farms and slow on others and some really nice bucks were harvested. As an outfitter that cares about his client's I really hate it when we have lock down phases but we do and it is beyond our control. I wish everyone could see tons of deer every sit and I wish everyone could harvest a big buck. But as seasoned hunter's as I know you are, we all know it doesn't happen that way. To top it all off when you pay your hard earned money and expectations are high it makes it just that much harder of a pill to swollow. Unfortunately, when things like this happen it gives the hunter a sour taste for the outfitter and I understand your feelings. If you look at the overall ratings we have so many hunters are pleased with Premier Outfitters. We try our best to control what we can control and will always do so. I am sorry you did not experience what so many of our hunters do and come back for. I would love to try and work something out for you next year and have you come back and give us one more try.
