I do not recommend this outfitter

2 hunters in my party, almost full week of hunting and neither of us even saw a bear. some bait sites consisted of rags on ground with liquid bait poured over it - kind of made site look trashy. very poor communication about lack of meat care - bears weren't gutted and skinned till next morning, despite very warm temps. several successful hunters went home with only hide, even though they wanted to bring meat, feel that should have been discussed before booking, so they could have been prepared to care for meet themselves. one successful couple was even told they shouldn't eat bear meat, will make them sick (I suspect a reference to trichinosis possibility was left out). Lodging lodging was good, food was excellent. final note: If you bring your own ATV be prepared to go through quite a bit of gas.

Was the outfitter notified of problems? - NO

Steve, Be a bear guide is not always easy job, please to everybody is kind of impossible. We make you hunt some very good bait, I do not know why you did not see a bear on a bait that nobody hunt yet ? Only you know why.. And we make you hunt more than on bait.

On that week we had 12 hunters, the result of the week was 2 bears woundenand 8 bears killed, for a total of 10 bears on 12 hunters, this is not a very bad week. On the top of it, I had one couple who hunt together and harvest 2 bears the same night on the same bait wit rifle. We had the same thing with the father and daugher who harvest 2 bears , the same ningt on the same bait... This is not a very good week don't you... I do not know what we can do more...

We do skin the bear the next day and this is not a problem, in 25 year we never lost a skin. And about the bear meat, we just advise the clients that the bear can have 3 kind of worm, one of them is thrichinosis and you can be very sick if you eat bear meat rare, need to be well cook. The client decide if they want the meat or not, I do not want be responsable if a clients get sick. And my job is a bear guide not a butcher In the last 25 years we do have a 70% reapeat clients and we try to do the best we can for all ours clients, but we have to deal with the wildlife and it is not always easy. Some year you can be Lucky and the next year not, there is nothing I can do about it.

And about the ATV, this is not an obligation to bring one, I just suggest to my clients if they have one and they like to ride it, bring it.. I do not know why you complain about it ?

Finally, if you expect kill something each time you go hunt, you will be disapoint all the time and will have no fun.
