I had an excellent experience with my 13 yo daughter on my once in a lifetime Nebraska elk hunt. I researched the options extensively for the hunt unit and after talking to multiple references decided on Dana at Balancing Arrow. He has a clean cabin with room for up to 6 people. He prepares warm meals every night that are more than sufficient. The cabin has a shower, small kitchen, coffee maker, refrigerator and a propane stove that keeps it comfortable inside. There is no tv or phone service just the bugling bulls to enjoy in the evening. Dana was clear about what he expected from us during the hunt and stressed how important it was to follow his directions so as not to run off the game. Anyone that has spent any time in the field should understand how the game can react negatively to hunting pressure. This was something I expected to hear as I have heard similar on virtually all guided hunts I have taken. His rules posed no problems for us as we were eager to harvest a trophy bull. If you are after a luxury hunt this isn't your place. If you are after a true western hunt with quality game (world class if you are lucky enough to have a Nebraska elk tag) I would definitely recommend Balancing arrow.
