Great Archery Elk Hunt with BHO. I was hunting area 35 and my guide was Mike Miller. Mike has extensive knowledge of the area after hunting that area for over 25 years. The accommodations were great, we stayed in a cabin right in area 35. We were into elk each day and finally on my last day we were successful in calling in and harvesting a 300+ bull. Mike and Doug (our cook/advance scout) did a great job and were great to be around. They really made you feel like you were hunting with one of your long time hunting buddies. Dustin and Rich (owners) both made sure to meet me and talk about the hunt. Dustin checked in with Mike several times to make sure the hunt was going good. Great guide and great outfitter, already booked a 2020 Mule deer archery hunt.
Kirk, thank you for allowing us to share this hunt with you. Mike had a great time and thank you for being prepared; mentally, physically and shooting wise. Congrats on a great bull, looking forward to 2020.
Was warm the first 3 days, but cold front came through and we had an inch or 2 of snow overnight. This really got the elk bugling. Stayed cool the rest of the hunt.
