Whitetail Heaven provided a unique hunting experience. Our guide ‘Hunter’ went above and beyond to try an put us on deer. Hunter made us feel valued and listened to our ideas and preferences. Unfortunately, this outfitter has high volume stands with a decent amount of hunting pressure. This makes the guides job very challenging. They were willing to accommodate and let me try a few stands without any issues. I saw a couple 120-130 inch bucks, but the fines are steep for shooting bucks under 130”. So, I let a decent 10 point walk the second day. For archery it was decent hunting, but we stayed for 3 days of rifle, and it got realll busy. 44 guys at camp for rifle, and changing stands was no longer an option. Our guide - Hunter - was really cool and his father was a veteran guide. If you go to west camp, those are the guys you want.

Rifle season is a particularly busy time for all of our lodges, however West camp had 20 less hunters this year than last and was not nearly at capacity. In comparison to our lower-volume bow season, we know it can feel very crowded. It can be misleading though, with over 40,000 acres we have more room in the woods than we do at our lodges. We have hundreds, maybe over one thousand stands across our properties. It is easy to be mislead into translating this into being overbooked but its simply not true. We are high volume, no doubt about it - we are one of the biggest outfitters in the country. In spite of that volume, our success rate speaks for itself.
We do have hefty fines for shooting a buck that does not meet the minimum, and that is to protect our resources and make sure properties are not over-hunted and there are giants on our land for years to come.
